Remembering

So I was laying in bed last night and I thought of a few cute things that happened on our trip.  I will slowly spill the beans as I have the time to type about it and remember it.  It was all to overwhelming to write about right away!

So we were at Sea world for the second time on our trip.  What a wonderful place!  Makena was watching the fish, enjoying the penguins, and just having a good time!  When we were leaving an exhibit, Jared freaked out a bit and I looked at him and his side was wet.  Big girl's diaper had leaked all over him and her.  I laughed.  I know, terrible, but it was funny!  I cleaned up Makena and took her skirt off to dry out.  No biggie, she was easy to handle.  Jared on the other hand . . . actually he did really well with it too.  He took off his button up and hung it over the stroller to dry and let his t-shirt dry out on his body.  Lesson learned: Huggies diapers SUCK!!!  We had to buy them because the store was out of Pampers.

Makena and I also got to feed the dolphins on day 2 of Sea World.  It was so amazing to get to touch and pet them.  Makena was just in my arms watching, but she was just feet away from a gorgeous creature.

When we were eating at breakfast they would bring Makena her juice in a normal kid cup with straw.  She didn't want to wait for her sippy cup, which we had forgotten in the room so Jared went up to get it, in the meantime I put the straw in her mouth just to see what she would do.  She was SO close to getting the juice in her mouth, just one more suck and she would have had it.  A little bit later I had her try again and when she got the juice up, I tilted the straw so it would drain into her mouth.  That's all it took and she had it down.  I was SO proud of her for figuring out how to use a straw!  It will be so much easier when we are out and about now!

That's all I've got for now.  I'm sure there will be more to tell in the future.  Here is a picture of Makena and me on day 1 of Sea World, this was a "polar bear den".  :)
