Come on, give me a break!

So Makena is sick again.  It seems to be just a cold, but I can feel it coming on in my own body now.  We just can't seem to catch a break around here.  I hope everyone is back to healthy before dance on Wednesday.  I don't want to have to skip it. Speaking of dance.  I got an e-mail last week saying there was a lice exposure in her class.  She has now been exposed to it 3-4 times with the Y and dance.  This is crazy!  So far we've been lucky that she hasn't gotten it.  I just keep wondering how long this luck will last.

This past weekend the kids and I spent Saturday playing together like it was a normal weekday.  Jared was locked away almost all day because he was going to have to spend all of Sunday with the kids while I was at Audrey's baptism. Since I brought up the baptism - it was wonderful.  A nice service and a good little shin-dig afterward. After I left Katie's I called my Aunt to see if she was home and since she was I made a surprise appearance.  We ended up chatting for a couple of hours.  I was planning on a quick in/out visit.  I should know better.  We always get caught up in our chats.

Let me backtrack a bit.  Makena had dance on Wednesday and she really seemed to like it. I think it was just more of a play time and get to know you session, but you have to work pre-schoolers into this kind of thing. I'm already excited for her recital.  I have a feeling I'll have the kid that will refuse to perform, but that's okay, she'll look cute in her costume no matter what I'm sure.

Friday we had gymnastics and she did GREAT.  This was the first session without me there to lead her around.  There are only 3 kids total in her group so the teacher is able to focus on them individually. Makena did a great job listening and afterward I asked if I should put her back a class since she's the youngest and was told that she did fine and this is a good fit for her.  She actually did better without me.  She didn't seem scared to try things.  I kind of figured that would be the case. Now, to just her to her jump into the big foam pit ....

Today we skipped the Y since I didn't want to get anyone else sick but tomorrow I will be working out no matter what.  If I have to do Jillian, so be it. I like her dvds, but I also like getting out of the house.

Send us get healthy thoughts!!
