Skittles is our new guinea pig. On Mother's Day we went out shopping as a family. I had the urge to go to the pet store and then talked myself into a new addition. This pet is already better than Chewy (our hamster) ever was. She can actually hold Skittles without him running away. As long as we keep giving him attention, he should get better and better about trusting us. Makena is absolutely enamored with him. First thing she wants to do in the morning is say hi and hold him and then at night she wants to pet him again before bed. In the picture above she was getting her "before bed" holding in. I originally wanted to adopt one, but I was afraid that we may end up with one that was abused and may be a biter. I figure if we start with a baby he will not have defensive strategies in his mind. He nibbled at me today, but I think think he was just seeing if I was food. As soon as I put him back in his cage he ate and drank like he was starving. Oh
Today: Gymnastics was WONDERFUL. Makena listened, tried new things, and was overall a great kid. She ran around the gym like a wild child twice, but the teacher just told her we weren't over there yet and she came back. Good Job big big girl! I love when you're a good girl (I love you when you aren't too).
Matthew has been sporting 18 month shirts and 24 month bottoms lately. At his checkup last week he was 23 pounds 4 ounces. I don't remember his length at this very moment, but will post it if I remember later. My five minutes of typing time is over, I'll try to write one more time this week!
