WHAT? Oh, okay.

Poor little Skittles had to go back to the store.

I brought Skittles back to the store as a boy and when I left Skittles was a girl. (this is where the title of the post is inserted) Well, long story short, somebody put female guinea pigs on the sales floor, but they were supposed to go back to the vendor because our store only sells males.  Before they were taken off the floor, 1 lucky little lady was sold to a very loving family!!  So, the little guy that we thought we had, is actually a little gal!

Why did I have to bring her back? She had a gunky eye yesterday and after some research it looked as though she may have come down with a respiratory infection. I called the store and since they have a 14 day guarantee, I was told to bring her back for a look. Upon examination she did indeed have an infection and she has to stay there to be treated with antibiotics.  They are going to call when she is all healthy again. I was a little bummed that we had to basically return her (money given back to us) in case she doesn't make it. When we go pick her up, I have to buy her again. She's lucky I REALLY liked her, or I may not go back! After realizing how much I liked her I figured it was safe to say we weren't going to get another hamster (too hard for Makena to hold since she is so small herself) so I put the hamster stuff up on craigslist. Hopefully that sells soon.

A SMALL part of me wants to sell the guinea pig stuff too, and not go back for Skittles, but that's just mean! I really like watching her eat lettuce from our hands and crawl all over us.  She even was starting to crawl on Matthew.  All that bonding is shot to heck now that she's gone for so long. We'll have to start all over when she comes home again.

Onto the rest of the family:
Yesterday out friend Jake came over and brought his son Noah.  Makena and Noah played SO well together. The had some outside time, played on the ipad, did puzzles, watched movies, had snacks. Basically it was toddler heaven.  I also tried to have them take a nap in the same bed. Noah was an angel and probably would have been fine, but my wild child was keeping him awake reading books to him. So, in the end, I separated them and they had great naps as well.
