Monday started WAY too early!

Makena ended up staying up late all weekend, thus slept in every day this weekend.  I obviously got used to it.  I am TIRED today since she went to bed on time and then woke up at her normal time.  Blah.  She seems tired too.  She is sitting next to me on the chair just zoning out.  Normally she is bringing me toys and books to play with.  So, to re-cap the weekend:

Friday night we went to Makena's Grandpa's house.  We got there around 8:45 and Makena stayed up until after 9:30.  She was WILD when we got there.  She was running around with the dogs like a crazy lady.  I think she ended up getting over tired.  Grandpa now has an air mattress for Makena to sleep in and her own room.  It worked GREAT!!  She slept until almost 7, without getting up in the middle of the night, which usually happens when we sleep at other homes.  She also took a great nap on Saturday.  It may have helped that she spent Saturday morning outside.  She also got to touch and see a plane up close.  She loved it.  Grandpa wanted us to go flying with him, but he only asked because he knew I would say no.  ;)  After a delicious spaghetti lunch we did some afternoon play, coloring, and dog chasing.  She ended up getting bit though.  Perhaps she was getting a bit too rough.  There wasn't any blood, but I can still see red marks where it happened.  The frustrating part is that when it happened she was actually being nice and just going to go pet the puppy.  Then she snapped and actually bit.  Luckily I was there to stop it immediately so the bite wasn't worse.  We left grandpa's Saturday after supper and even brought home Putz.  Makena loves Putz.  Unfortunately Putz can't play with us in the basement this time since she is bleeding (think along the lines of a woman's monthly cycle).  She has to stay outside or in the kitchen this visit.

Yesterday Makena started wearing cloth diapers!  We weren't able to start until evening though since I had to wash and prep the cloth before she could wear them, and that took all morning.  She is doing well with them, NO LEAKS!  She is also starting to tell me when she is wet.  NOW, to get her to tell me BEFORE she is wet.  I am REALLY hoping that starting her in cloth with encourage her to want to be potty trained sooner.  They do make cloth inserts that take the moisture away from the skin, but I didn't get those on purpose.  I probably will get Matthew those though.  That little guy doesn't have to be potty trained for a while, I guess.  ;)

Today we're going to head off to a park in the morning and then no plans for the afternoon.  We were going to go to a park playdate in White Bear, but I don't feel like driving so much for a park playdate on such a cool day.  I want to be able to go home after 15 minutes if I feel like it.  I could leave a playdate that early, but if we were in WBL I would have to drive for 30 minutes before I actually got home.  Anyway, I should get back up off the couch.  I sat down after washing the basement windows, blinds, dusting, and cleaning the downstairs basement.  Now that half the house is done, I'll have to do the other half at nap time.  Fun times, right?  :)
