Baptism Day!!

I ALWAYS forget how much working it is to get ready to have people over.  I always deep clean my house, try to get food ready, and now I have 2 kids to take care of at the same time.  Jared did help me quite a bit.

The service was very nice.  Boy had to be brought out to the main area after his baptism since he was crying and Girl had to be brought to the nursery because she was "done" with church.  Interesting for a girl who was saying "I love church" the entire drive there.  We took the basics as far as pictures and here they are:
Godparents - Our good friend Jake and my friend (since I was 4) Katie
My family and the Godparents
My little lovey!

We could NOT get Girl to look at the camera ...

My side of the family. My brother's family and my dad is on the far left.
Girl was playing with my hair.  This is Jared's side of the immediate family.  I was so glad that his Grandma was able to make it.  Boy's middle name comes from her late husband's first name.  He was a wonderful man and we are SO happy to be able to honor him.
I had rice hotdish, fruit kabobs, tomato/mozz apps., buns, various candy, and beverages.  The guests helped me by bringing: relish tray, potato salad, coleslaw, chips, cheese dip and tortilla chips, cookies, cake, veggies and my favorite veg dip, and other snack foods like pretzels and cheetos.

Here are a couple of pictures of the cake.  His name was on the oval part, but I have removed it for "internet" reasons.

Girl had a BLAST today.  She played with all of her cousins and friend.  She spent most of the time rough housing with the boys and just a little time playing kitchen and Barbies with her 1 girl cousin.  Honestly, I think she would much rather rough house since she plays with the other things every day. The boys were SO good with her.  They were careful when she was climbing on them, they would let her catch them when she was running after, and they would wait for her when she was taking a snack break.

Somehow Girl went ALL day with no nap whatsoever.  She was in a fairly good mood until bedtime as well.  I was impressed.  I was not so impressed with the fact that Boy decided today was not a day for napping as well.  He finally had to cry himself to sleep at 8:30.  Up until that point he had about 2 hours worth of naps throughout the entire day.  He was grumpy and whiny even though he was full of food.  That is NOT normal for him.  He was such a good baby all day though.  He smiled, laughed, and cooed at everyone.  We heard lots of "big boy" statements as well.  I like those, that means he's growing nicely.    It's quite the change from "she's so little".  In fact, he was so big that both pastors had to do his baptism today since the one pastor didn't think she could lift him and do the ceremony on her own.  She even made a comment to the congregation to tell him about that whenever we talk about his baptism!  I will, don't worry.

Well, now that everything is cleaned up, the kids are in bed, and the blog has been updated - I'm going to bed!
