Minnesota, really?

We were able to go for a walk yesterday, in FEBRUARY!!!  It was so nice and melty out.  I was even brave and let Girl do some walking on her own.  I actually had to encourage her to go through puddles.  After trying it once, I couldn't get her to stop.  It was pretty cute.  Boy was awake for the first half of the walk, then fell asleep.  The fresh air must have done both of them some good.  Girl slept a nice solid 12 hours and Boy slept 8 1/2 hours.  I think that's pretty good for an almost 4 month old!

Girl was saying "the sun is too bright mom" during this picture.

"Look mom, green"

"LOOK, PENGUINS MOM"

The penguins, WHY do these people still have x-mas decor up?  They are LITERALLY the only ones around with things still in their yard.

Happy Boy!

I've never gone to the park in winter before, but it looks like the city floods this area for a skating area.  COOL!!! When we've been there in the summer, I always wondered why they didn't fill the "hole" that was there.

Once home from our outing we had lunch, took naps, and then made some supper in the crockpot.  Girl had fun putting everything into the pot for me!  I think it was hard for her to understand that it would cook without us up there though, that was kind of new to her.  She was all prepared to stay in the kitchen and play Barbies and with the dogs.  I couldn't really tell if she was excited to get to go back downstairs or a bit disappointed.  Either way, we did some more playing until meal time.

Boy was a grumpy one last evening, but once he was in his crib for the night all the grumpiness went away!  I was so relieved.  Usually when he has a bad day it leads to a bad night.  The bad days are USUALLY my fault.  If you were to track my eating habits from the day/hours before you will most likely see that I had dairy.  I've REALLY cut back on my intake of it, but sometimes I just NEED some yogurt or string cheese.  I can't help it, I just have to have it. mmmm  I think it's because I know I shouldn't.  I'm such a rebel.  I should put a recording of Boy's crying on the packages of the yogurts and cheeses.  Perhaps it would keep me away.  Probably not though.  hehehe

Changing the subject a bit, I'm going to say that Girl is fully potty trained!  She asks for the potty in strange locations, hasn't had an accident in a week, can hold it if I tell her to (so we can get to the potty), wakes up dry after naps, and has a fairly dry diaper in the morning.  The morning diaper used to be DRENCHED.  I am so proud of her.  I'm not willing to do the "wake them up to pee when you go to bed" thing quite yet, but maybe soon.  It'd be interesting to see if she wakes up dry after doing that. I am not ready to disturb her sleep cycle quite yet though.
